Well it's Lent time again. This year I have no either what to do. And I didn't even fast for Ash Wednesday cox I totally forgot. Have to replace it another day... Maybe next week.
So, back to abstinence. What should I this year?
Refrain from certain food?
Hmm I guess I could refrain from chocolates. When was the last time I ate chocolates?
There are a lot of food stuffs I have no point refraining from because I dont even tke that much of them... unless they are bread, which I really do not want to abstain from...
you know what? I shall abstain from chocolates. And time for prayer as well. Should try to be more diligent at saying prayers. Feel a bit guilty because had been slacking a lot in this department.
Still love you though Lord :)

Yen and Saw 3D
So, this was my last GP block. I had surprisingly enjoyed it. The GPs had all been really nice and I managed to learn quite a bit from them.
Last Monday, was Ryan's graduation for his Master's degree. I couldn't attend his graduation cause it was in the afternoon and I have to go to the GP. His mum, him and I went for dinner afterwards at this posh Chinese-Thai-Japanese place called Yen. It was really nice despite being pricey. And his mum paid for it anyway. :) Heheh. By the end of the night, I was extremely full!! And not to mention bloated... but oh so worth it!! I would definitely go there again...if I have money to spare.
Yen at night - dark so not very clear, it's this circular building and there's 2 floors to the restaurant
We went upstairs - menu for Japanese, Thai and Cantonese food
The restaurant upstairs - downstairs is teppenyaki restaurant
Complimentary prawn crackers to share and a pot of tea for moi
Ryan having dived into prawn crackers
Ryan and his mum- sorry for the blurriness
Chicken parcels - Thai style
Fried squid
Prawn dim sum
For the main course - they brought out this heater before hand - it's a metal thing with fire underneath
From left to right - king prawn curry, chicken green curry, and chicken tom yam. Oh they are so so so so yummy!!
Pots of rice - small pot is mine cause I ordered boiled rice and the bigger pot is egg fried rice
After dinner, we had desserts (although our tummies were already to the brim)
I had the Banoffee Bombe and Ryan's mum had the Fantastica.
Banoffee Bombe - banana ice cream with toffee centre covered in white chocolate and amaretto biscuit
Fantastica - don't quite remember what it is haha
Ryan's hot chocolate
Fortune cookies and mint chocolates when we leave.
On Friday night, I went over to Ryan's. We bought pizza and chips from a supermarket for dinner. I was craving for pizza lol. We also go ice cream and oyster-shaped wafer shells and vanilla ice cream and cream soda. Yummm. So we had kind of like a soda float. And the next day, I had an ice cream oyster :) So spoiled.
We went to watch Saw 3D on Saturday afternoon. Was gonna watch the earlier one but was late so we decided to watch the later one instead. It was supposed to be the final chapter of Saw. I liked that it was just as gory as the previous ones but the story line was confusing. The 3D is not necessary but I still liked it. One of my favourite all time movies.
And while I was at the cinema, saw this movie poster for a show called NEDs: Non-Educated Delinquents. Hahaha. Fong, remember what I've told you about NEDs? I cannot believe it actually being made into a movie. So, I'm telling a lie!!! Wuahahahaa.
This is the only relevant picture of the movie I can find. It's in Spanish but you get the drift...
Oh, since we arrived earlier at the cinema and after buying tickets for a movie more than 2 hours later we went to walk around in the city. I wanted to check my bra size so went into La Senza to try on a few bras and decided to get a free bra fitting. I am sooo happy I finally know what size I am. I am a 32 D now or 34 C for comfort. I was doubtful at first because I was uncomfortable in a 32. The cup size is fine. But, when I think of it, it makes sense. The 32 D for my size is when the clasp is at the furthest so when it loosens it will be just right wouldn't it?
On a side note, this morning in church, I was asked to do the reading. (It's a part of the mass where parts of the bible was read out) It was my first time and was exciting while at the same time nerve-wrecking! But I thought it went well. :)

Pancake Tuesday and Lent
Here, the Tuesday before Lent, (Lent: a season of repentance before Easter Sunday) is PANCAKE TUESDAY!!
As the name suggests, you make pancakes on that day, normally for dinner. At first, I didn't really bother, then my housemates are making them, and they asked me if I wanted any. I thought why not? Since, I've actually hadn't had any contact with them for what seems like ages. They ate pancakes with sugar and lemon... I just put sugar. Not a fan for the sour taste..
Well, my pancakes always turn out to be fairly nice, although I wasn't the one making it. I was scared it might turn out burnt or something ... Somehow, when they were making theirs, it usually turns out wrong, like burnt or mangled or something likewise. It was a good laugh. :)
Anyway, for Lent, I was just thinking, I should refrain from Facebook. For 40 days. Starting this Sunday. Yup. I thought about a number of things I should stop from but I probably wouldn't survive to see the day. So, let's start it slow with something I'm addicted to but can still probably give up.

Questions
Why am I sad about something I thought I didn't need?
Why am I feeling so frustrated all the time?
Why am I so emotional?
Why do I have to cry?
Why can't I be strong?
Why does my heart beat?
And why does it hurt?
Why can't I learn to accept reality?
Why I can't I believe in myself more?
Why I can't I work it when I know I need to?
Why do I feel the need to alienate myself when I'm feeling down?
Why am I overanalysing?
Why am I trying to make myself more depressed than I already am?
Why do I need some loving?
Why?
My questions were never answered.
Maybe my prayers will.

Rant
Long emotional ranting ahead. Do not read if you are not into feeling more depressed. Do read if you are into delving in other people's bad days...
I am so frustrated.
Fong!!!! Why aren't you online. Geesh...I'm being more and more possessive every day.
Or more like addicted. Arghhhh..
I can't focus on studying. As much my brain is saying, logically, it's time for you to start studying!!! Start right now!!! I know. But, my body and soul aren't really responding. Such failure.
All this makes me feel like a complete loser. I have seen people who have so much more to stress about than me but they seem to be handling it just fine. And me, I am just stressed out by just all this minor, insignificant things??? I am such a failure, man.
Right now, I am thinking that I have not finished my CVS study schedule. In fact, I am wayyyy behind. And I have to wake up early for some patho session tomorrow. And I have to dread PBL and all the researching and studying and presenting. I am worried cause I can't seem to really remember what I have read throughout the week of MSK. I am worried for the fund raising. Don't know how it is doing. And I feel like I am not doing much... I'm thinking I have to study for CSU on Tuesday and praying I don't get in any trouble during CSU. Which means not getting some specific lecturers... I have sooo many things on my mind, it is really really driving me crazy. And of course, as usual, adding to my emoness. SIGH.
It is thus again, the season of Lent. And, like most Lent, I had never done anything special for it. You know, stuffs like fasting, abstaining from favourite stuffs or doing some spritual thing. And I haven't even been to confession!!! I shall not mention how long...
Really. I think I have been thinking too much. I was even thinking when I wrote the line before!!!!! I should turn off my brain for a while. Where's the switch...

Q: What is the center verse in the Bible?
A: Psalms 118:8
A: Psalms 118:8
Q: Does this verse say something significant about God's perfect will for our lives?
(think about it)
The next time someone says they would like to find God's perfect will for their lives and that they want to be in the center of His will, just send them to the center of His Word!
The next time someone says they would like to find God's perfect will for their lives and that they want to be in the center of His will, just send them to the center of His Word!
*Psalms 118:8
"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."*
"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."*
Now isn't that odd how this worked out (or was God in the center of it)? Hmm...
When things get tough, always remember...
Faith doesn't get you around trouble, it gets you through it !!
God Bless You! *loves*
