Week 14/04/13

I was working the weekend before and was pretty much completely out of it by Monday. I can think about was sleepppp....zzzzz

Off on Tuesday!! Woohoo. Went to Mr.Dino's on Monday night and the next day went to watch movie and do a bit of shopping. I am still compiling my shopping hauls and will post them all together next time!!

Watched the Odd Life of Timothy Green. Really enjoyed the movie.

*The story started with a young couple telling the story about the miracle of them having a child. Set in a small town (which name escapes me) which specialises in pencil production, it was about a couple who tried really hard to have a child but failed and failed and was about to move on.

The night they found out they will not be able to have a child of their own, they sat down and made a list of things that their child would be, eg. have a good heart, Picasso with a pencil, etc. Then, they put it into a small box and buried it in their back garden.

That night, there was a storm and someone seemed to have broken into the house and eventually found this boy covered in mud who was rummaging in their house. After getting him cleaned, realised that he had leaves growing on his leg and the place where their lists were buried was replaced with a huge hole. They added things together and decided this boy was probably meant for them. A miracle!!

He was introduced to family members, enrolled into school, meet people and made friends and the young couple learned to become parents. As the story progresses, you realise that everytime he did something that was in the 'list' made by his parents, a leaf dies and fall off.

By the end, it was revealed that when all his leaf dies, he goes as well. And that's exactly what happened. Left everyone involved with him a letter and a leaf for people who he think's should have one. And the couple was telling this story in a ordeal to adopt an Asian girl who is so adorable. And the end.*

It was a family, feel-good movie with hints of humour and touching-ness. I enjoyed it.

Then it was work and gym and the usual. I did spend some sleepless hours preparing a teaching session for medical students scheduled for Friday.

Mr.Dino wasn't feeling very well and didn't leave for Aberdeen on Friday as usual. I went to see him and went to Aberdeen with him early on Saturday. Went to watch another movie! And more shopping!! Watched Oblivion.

I'm not a big sci-fi fan but I thought it was a reasonably good movie. I though the CGI was pretty good with interesting, non-confusing storyline. And quite a bit of action with the usual romance going on within the movie. Right now, after spending time describing the basic storyline for Timothy Green, I cannot be bothered to narrate on another movie. So, I shall leave it for another time.

I have arranged lunch with my parent's friends on Sunday. Took the bus back in the morning to Glasgow and drove to Chinatown for lunch!! Dimsum and noodles. So freaking yummy!! Mr. Dino was super jealous heheh. And now, it's time for bed and work tomorrow :(
